PSA: Don’t ever upload photos of your keys. A key is just a PIN, where the height of each tooth is a digit of the PIN. So if you share a photo of your key, you are sharing the PIN and anyone can create a copy of your key.

To be true is not that hard to pick a lock without knowing the key. If the lock have not antibump technology it’s easier to bumb it than to make a copy of the key.

Sure, for most locks, that is true. But it is a lot more conspicuous. If someone sees you picking a lock, they may report you. If they see you using a key, they will likely think nothing of it.

Also, lock picking usually leaves behind evidence. Using a key doesn’t. That may or may not be relevant, e.g. for insurance.

(Ok, but this fucks the lock hard, all the paint in them mechanical parts will lock you out for good & you’ll need giant powered dildos drills to destroy it. Keys should be anodised to get them nice colours, not painted.)

That’s what marking rings are for. You just pull a ring of a chosen color over the keys handle. Additional bonus: Those rings come with distinguishable surface patterns, yo you can feel which key it is in the dark.

This. New cylinders aren’t that expensive and they take about 20 seconds to replace.

It took me a second to get this because I initially just thought it was a pink and black key set, and I was just thinking it was a badass colorscheme. But no, that is brown…

P.S., I hope you have a second copy of the front door key.
