There is still basically no difference between this and any other hobby that involves something manufactured by people in poor countries other than proximity to the people doing the labor. You are just mad that people who have either a bit or a lot more money for their hobbies have a hobby that doesn’t appeal to you personally.

Now take this exact line of reasoning to you owning a phone or having any hobbies and actually try to find a material difference.

Cops are weird, it’s a mix of ‘this our turf, you wanted to come in here so FAFO’, laziness, a vague sense of duty directed at ???, and some eclectic variety of incoherent personal politics that separates the feds into the camp of ‘other’ at least temporarily.

But nobody is hurting for renters at the bottom of the price bracket. Those units go fast unless there’s something horrible about the unit.

You can say ‘they’re all talk until they’re not’ about anyone. There is no doubt in my mind that this guy would gladly do some gay bashing if he was getting out of some shitty abiline bar/““honky-tonk”” and saw somebody visibly queer walking into a relatively isolated street. But I also understand the gulf between that and publicly planning a mass shooting. Don’t get me wrong, I hate this exact type of hick in a way that is indefensibly bigoted in it’s own right. But they aren’t that stupid.

I mean he’s a vile piece of shit but this is like, par for the course chatting shit for west texans. This doesn’t even remotely read as an actual threat to me. You have to understand these are uncivilized and stupid people who have thoughts only marginally more sophisticated than their cattle and dogs.

They’re stupid but not ‘genuinely invite homie to do a mass shooting together with a public faceboook post’ stupid. Even these yokels would assume ‘surely nobody would take this literally.’ Who among us hasn’t seen a picture of a white nationalist march and thought things you wouldn’t post publicly. It’s that frame of mind but if you were a bigot and too dumb to have a filter.
