It’s not normal for Jon to miss the Monday show, but it is normal for him to make up for it later in the week, the main exception being when he had covid and was out for a week or two.
The article makes this sound like a bigger deal than it is. There was no Daily Show on Monday, and when Jon doesn’t do the Monday show it’s normal for him to do a show later in the week.
That would matter if a lot more if the broadcasters actually challenged the threats of retaliation instead of caving.
