The US desperately needs a grass-roots movement that lies low and makes do with harm reduction so the ones in power do not see it coming, and then suddenly switches their vote together all at once when they know they have enough numbers for a third party to surpass the other two, and be able to pass constitutional amendments, fix the electoral system, and other changes to start undoing the damage of McCarthyism.

Unfortunately truth serum isn’t really a thing, and perjury is still hard to prove.

I don’t like it when fiction makes a minority “special” like only queer people being protagonists who can save the world, because it still singles them out. It doesn’t matter if it’s something positive. We are all one, nobody is special or less than a person because they were born with this or that characteristic.

Remember that quote from Rick and Morty? “Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody’s gonna die. Come watch TV.”? Add “nobody is special” and we are cooking.

Then the epic protagonist can save the world even if they aren’t really special, and still happen to be queer. Not because they are queer, not despite being queer. They are simply who they are. And they are someone who saves the world.

There are only 3 developers I will preorder from whenever I find the game they are releasing interesting. Erin “Concerned Ape” (Stardew Valley); Bob the Bot (Survivalist); and Terry Cavanagh, the creator of VVVVVV.
They keep their games updated, they are pretty chill people, and they keep players informed during development.
For now, they are the only ones who have earned my trust.

For everything else, it’s full patientgamer mode for me. Wait until the whole game is released with a single price tag, 90% discount, no online requirements outside of multiplayer, and community fixes.

No utopia can exist without achieving post-escarcity.

I perdonally prefer when people grow a conscience, because then they have to live torturing themselves with what they have done and may even work to undo their harm and help others grow a conscience too. But it sadly happens so rarely that you practically never see it outside of fiction and a few documentaries about repentant ex-nazis and stuff like that.
