  • For me personally, I would remember none of that if taught to me. I’m stubborn and handy enough to figure it out during an emergency. For the kind of noob OP is describing that benefits from a handheld on-ramp, they will probably never be able to do what you’re describing.

I think a good compromise would be mentioning a few things that you can do in case of emergency so a more savvy person would know what to look for in an emergency. You don’t have to teach them so much as tell them there is something they can do. If there’s a fire, idk where the fire extinguisher is but I know there is one and I can go looking.

  • I’ll bite.

I believe most crime is fundamentally due to poverty. I don’t believe you can simply enforce your way out of crime. That would be extremely expensive and wouldn’t do anything about the poverty. You’d be better off giving the police funding to the poor communities. Enforcement would be unequally dished out to poorer areas, creating an oppressive atmosphere. So when people say it’s something a dictator does, it’s because it ignores the fundamental problem in order to jump straight to aggressive policing. Aggressive policing is something a dictator does.

Man I don’t see that being true at all. From my perspective, it makes fascism, oligarchy, and authoritarianism the much more likely outcomes after capitalism decays away. You’re assuming that the workers gaining class consciousness is inevitable. Centralized industry is just fruit ripe for the picking by a proletariat uprising. I really doubt thats how it will go down.
