Understand that the point of the TikTok takeover is to provide this administration with yet another means to manipulate and control the population by shaping the viewpoints delivered to its users.
Ive never and will never use TikTok
Americans meaning Bytedance, Skydance, and Oracle. Essentially the Ellison family is taking over TikTok.
Oh and Skydance might also buy Warner Brothers Discovery, meaning the Ellison family will control CNN and CBS (as well as HBO Max and Paramount+).
Can anyone on tiktok report on the reaction to this? Do users seem to care? Is the younger crowd mentioning it?
Tiktok has been under US gov’t control for a while and most of the reaction I’ve seen is on RedNote. Some people have figured out their Tiktok shares, saves and favourites are blackholed when viewed from a US account, but visible from a Canadian or Australian account. This is exactly how the CCP does it.
Im an occasional user, noticed that the Tiktok feed has even more fake AI posts.
With the announcement, deleted my account. What you save, share and like will be used against you by the US gov’t.
