Is this true? I find conflicting answers to this question and I genuinely don’t have a fuckin clue. I see republicans talking about liberals like they are left, but then I see this repeated statement and I always look it up but never seem to get anywhere.
The GOP and DNC are both liberal parties, but the GOP is more right-wing, thus they call the DNC “liberals” in a negative manner while upholding themselves as “conservatives.” Liberalism is pro-capitalism, though, and cannot be seen as left.
That’s… literally the opposite of reality.
*Edit: peoples’ definitions of what a liberal is are not all the same. To me, the DNC are not liberal, they are capitalist centrists.
