The report (paywalled) claims that investors include Silver Lake and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). This deal, according to the outlet’s sources, could be announced as soon as next week.
Yeah, looks like I’ll be permanently boycotting anything EA now.
Welcome to the club, did that ever since they had diarrhea all over my childhood.
EA - If it’s in the game, it’s in the game 's ingame store as a microtransaction
I miss Electronic Arts…
I honestly can’t remember a time when EA was well liked. Even in elementary school in the 90’s, it was common for kids to refer to them as Electronic Farts.
Really? They had some bangers in the 90s, such as Road Rash and Need for Speed, as well as a ton of great games they published, like Sim City. Even their sports games were generally great.
It wasn’t really until the 2000s and 2010s that their games became money grabs.
Memba full throttle
LucasArt’s Full Throttle ?
Oh shit nevermind it’s been years lol
Take away their license NFL please for the love of god
With Saudis money? Not gonna happen, be prepared for another decade (at least) of EA Sports.
Now, with extra Bone Saw.
I‘d certainly be interested to see if that‘d change any of their exploitative practices like FUT. Also hopefully that brings Codemasters back to old form… And please bring old online services back up cause money doesn‘t seem to be the issue then lol
I’m sorry, my brain read FUT as Fear, Uncertainty, and Trout
You have to understand that a company like EA doesn’t want lots of money. They want all the money.
Yeah, but that‘s usually stakeholder-driven. Of course, it could be all the same if and when they go private, but this move just seems unprecedented to me so it‘s interesting to observe if it does have any impact in this regard.
EA is still around?
