Lindsey Halligan, the new US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, has no experience as a prosecutor.

The US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia is one of the most significant positions in the Department of Justice.

Erik Siebert, the federal prosecutor whom President Donald Trump pushed out Friday for declining to prosecute his political enemies, had extensive experience. He is listed as an attorney on 675 federal cases. His replacement, Lindsey Halligan, a 36-year-old former Florida insurance lawyer, has worked on only three.

But for an administration in which loyalty reigns supreme, what matters is whom Halligan represented in each of those federal cases: Trump.

I remember learning about dictatorships in class. This topic will not be covered for future generations.

I’m more optimistic. Eventually it will again. I don’t know how long, but dictatorships don’t last forever. The topic will be covered in the future, and our time will be in it.

Going to keep saying this so people understand this a bit better, because as stupid, unqualified and horrible these people are, it works in the best interest for resistance:

    • These people are continually showing up to court and flubbing everything
    • They’re unable to even get warrants or indictments for these dumbshit crimes and claims they put forth
    • They are being admonished by judges no matter their political leanings or appointments
    • Everytime they do some dumb shit, it’s all over the news

The hope that the last line of defense being the legal system to an attempt at an authoritarian coup is working. Let them keep digging at the bottom of the barrel all they want, because these assclowns have no idea how any of this works, and that’s good for everyone else.

I see what you mean and your cautious optimism is mostly justified BUT then there’s judges like Aileen Cannon who are the perfect storm of incompetence, corruption, and endless patience towards the side they want to win.

A combination that unfortunately for humanity is becoming quite common 😮‍💨

Talking specifically about this revenge play.

Anything these fuckers want to do with Comey or others regarding bogus charges like “lying to Congress” require a Grand Jury in DC. The six total attempts to convene said jury and get indictments have failed. People read the news and they know what’s up.

Now if Trump wants to try and shop some shit around to Aileen Cannon or friendly judges, they need it to happen in Florida or Texas. That means whatever charges they are trying to bring relate to either stage, and none of these revenge plays apply.

The mortgage bullshit just won’t happen. It’s got to be DC or the state where it applied, so in James’ case, NY, and NOBODY is going for that shit.

The issue is, the more of the federal government he replaces, the less people/institutions there are to block him.

This only works for so long.

Halligan told the Washington Post that she met Trump at a November 2021 event at his golf club in West Palm Beach. A former contestant in Miss Colorado USA pageants, Halligan has said she probably stood out to Trump during their initial meeting because, unlike other women at the event, she was wearing a suit. Trump hired her as a lawyer soon after.

Halligan was at Mar-a-Lago during the FBI’s 2022 raid of the club. And she went on to represent Trump in a civil suit related to the raid. According to court records, it was the first time she had represented a client in federal litigation.

At the start of the case in August 2022, District Judge Aileen Cannon rejected two filings Halligan submitted for failing to comply with local procedures. The judge directed Halligan to the court’s website for instructions on how to file the documents correctly.

Two days later, Halligan submitted a notice updating her contact information. That filing was similarly rejected by the court. “Attorney has not followed the required procedures for updating their address with the Court,” a court notice explained. “See the Court’s website for detailed instructions.”

    Two observations:

    1. Even in her own telling, she was put on Trump’s radar for the qualification of…“wearing a suit.”

    2. And she was not being able to even competently file documents to satisfy freaking Aileen Cannon, Trump’s pet judge who is singularly responsible for Trump not facing justice for a clear violation of federal criminal law, multiple times. How dumb do you need to be to appear incompetent to a judge that is herself the epitome of incompetence and fecklessness?

    Have you seen her body?!

    Ohhh baby. SO qualified, amirite.

Also, isn’t it so great this administration respects white blond attractive-enough women?

Job requirements for working with the orange Hitler:

1.) Be loyal to the fascist administration

2.) No Morals/Ethics or other woke things that make you a civilized human being

3.) For women: be somewhat attractive

4.) Everything else is optional as long as it doesn’t interfere with 1.-3.)

That’s probably OK. It’s not like we have a legal system anymore. It’s not really based on anything.

They’re evil. Fortunately, they’re also really dumb.

Which isn’t a coincidence. Fascism selects for loyalty to the leader first and competence a very distant second.
